We're Looking for Skilled Management Accountants
Join our newly established Financial Planning and Analysis team.
You will support Finance Business Partners to provide excellence in financial analysis, insight and reporting to drive a culture of informed decision making across the business.
The Management Accountants are newly created permanent full time roles x 3, based in our new modern office in Duncan Street, central Fortitude Valley, close to public transport, parking and all amenities.
The overall purpose of the Management Accountant is to provide financial support, through understanding and interpreting financial results and performance trends.
The role requires supporting the Finance Business Partner (and Head of FPA) with senior leaders, middle management and other operational leaders by developing and delivering: budget and forecasting; in depth performance reporting, and analysis to support key operational/strategic decisions.
The focus is on transactional analysis to promote performance improvement and reporting against key performance indicators, and aid in the delivery of compliance reporting to support program funding agreements.
Key areas of responsibility include:
Financial Planning & Analysis: Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and operational plans, collaborating with finance and operations teams.
Analyse financial performance, investigate variances, and provide insights through management reporting.Reporting & Performance Monitoring: Support the preparation and distribution of management reports, including variance analysis.
Assist in improving reporting processes and staff training to ensure timely and accurate outputs.Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements and support audits and funding acquittals.
Identify and monitor financial risks, supporting the implementation of risk mitigation strategies.Stakeholder Collaboration & Process Improvement: Collaborate with stakeholders to provide financial advice and ensure efficient delivery of financial services.
Contribute to continuous improvements in financial reporting and management practices.About you:
You will be a team player, with an open, honest and professional communications style excellent attention to detail and pride in your work.
You will ideally have experience in the not-for-profit (NFP) or healthcare sector, where you can leverage your knowledge of management accounting in a complex environment to drive service and efficiency with a commercial and operational lens.
You will bring:
Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or similarProfessional accounting qualifications (CA, CPA, CIMA) or currently studying towards (desired)Management accounting experience in a multi-program organisation with a large number of designated cost centresUnderstanding of how to analyse financial outcomes, whilst working to strict deadlines and time constraintsDeveloping budgets and forecasts within a multi-program organisation - preferably aged care, community services or non-profitQuality written communication skills including briefings notes, reports and presentationsRelationship and rapport building, with the capacity to relate to a wide range of stakeholders, problem solving and negotiation skillsAbility to identify potential improvements to processes and service standardsStrong computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as other relevant contemporary applications (e.g.
