About the role Mater Built Environment has an exciting role and rewarding opportunity for a Major Projects Manager to join the team in a permanent and full-time capacity. This role be based across our Newstead and South Brisbane locations along with the ability to work from home up to 2 days a week.
The Project Manager manages and coordinates capital works projects for the Mater Group, over $500,000. Working within a team of shared resources within the Capital Works Department, the Project Manager will ensure projects are fully developed to encompass the requirement of all elements of Mater's strategy, along with project principles of time, cost, quality, risk form and function. Capital Works manage a variety of asset and infrastructure projects across South East Queensland Hospital campuses, including South Brisbane, Redland and Springfield. You will be responsible for the effective delivery of management services to achieve the completion of projects within quality, time and budget parameters.

What you'll be doing (but not limited to) Coordinate and deliver major projects (> $500,000) and when required minor projects ($20,000 - $500,000)Prepare Monthly Project ReportsMonitor project activities and progress, taking remedial actions if necessaryEnsure projects are completed within quality, time, and budget parametersLiaise with and monitor design consultants to ensure compliance with guidelinesProvide technical advice to clients, consultants, and contractorsMaintain clear communication with clients throughout the projectAct as Mater representative during the construction phaseProcess progress claims and variations in accordance with contractual obligationsManage project budgets and be accountable for project outcomesMonitor and report on project progress against specificationsCollaborate with internal and external clients and vendorsObtain necessary expertise and engage consultants as per guidelinesCoordinate external vendors during implementation and commissioningDevelop and execute project plans in various areasConduct internal closure reviews of projectsConduct post-project and post-occupancy reviewsContribute to the review and updating of design guidelines and proceduresManage projects within Mater's framework and policiesEnsure direct reports fulfill their role requirementsAbout you To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated success in a similar role in a large and complex organisation coupled with the below:
