We are seeking a Maintenance Worker, Location - Linsell Lodge Aged Care Centre, SA.
Purpose: As a collaborative member of the staff team, the Maintenance Worker is responsible for the general maintenance of the internal and external environment of the site.
They will ensure that the provision of essential safety, preventative and breakdown maintenance is undertaken in consultation with Leadership roles within the organisation.
The Maintenance Worker will complete regulatory equipment checks and assist with a variety of housekeeping and support service functions to ensure optimum standards in the physical environment of the site.
Key Roles and Responsibilities: The Maintenance Worker is responsible for:
Undertaking basic repairs to building, equipment and assets and similar items not calling for trades skills or knowledgeCarrying out physical inspections of property and premises, assets and equipment, safety and complianceProviding support to your line manager to achieve quality, efficient and effective output by contractors dealing with property and asset related service deliveryEnsuring all essential safety requirements including fire safety, electrical and other legislative tasks are carried out in accordance with standards, policies, and legislationEnsuring corrective and preventative maintenance activities are completed as scheduled and within the required time framesMaintaining a safe and aesthetically pleasant environment for all residents, visitors, and staffActing as a role model in promoting The Salvation Army Aged Care (TSAAC) Vision, Mission and ValuesEducation Qualifications: Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the aged care industry, including the application of the Aged Care Quality & Safety Standards, especially Standard 5An understanding of building compliance and certificationDemonstrated ability in the effective understanding and execution of:Building and grounds maintenanceWorkplace Health and SafetyRisk and hazard managementContractor managementTime managementDemonstrated understanding and proven ability to select and use suitable tools and techniques, including a strong knowledge of electrical power tools and hand toolsRequirements of the role: Current Drivers LicenceFull Covid Vaccination (including booster)National Criminal History CheckWhat we offer: NFP salary packaging ($15,900 tax free) plus meals and entertainment benefit ($2,650)Flexible working conditionsHealth, fitness and financial discounts / benefitsPaid parental leave - 12 weeksUp to 8 weeks leave per year through our purchase leave schemeUp to 5 days paid leave per year to 'volunteer' in a TSA program or activityPurpose driven career which has positive social and sustainable outcomesEmployee Assistance Program - Independent confidential counselling serviceOpportunity for career developmentAn inclusive culture of dedicated, passionate and professional team membersPositively supporting and impacting the lives of others through your career contributionThe Salvation Army is an Equal Opportunity Employer who provides an inclusive work environment and embraces the diverse talent of its people.
