Fitters, Turners & Machinists (Trades & Services) Full time Maintenance Technician– Multiple OpportunitiesPort Hedland – Residential RolePermanent – Full TimeOnsite Purpose of Role: The Weir Group are seeking 3 site-based Maintenance Mechanical Fitters to support the Iron Bridge Magnetite Project, based in our new service centre facility in Port Hedland, Western Australia! The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the refurbishment of our unique Weir High Pressure Grinding Roller (HPGR). This is an exciting opportunity to learn a new skillset and be a part of an international first in the industry.

Key Responsibilities: Work with the qualified HPGR technicians to establish and implement a sustainable growth of the allocated HPGR business unit.Manage all site installation, repair maintenance and testing as per scopes of work.Become a committed team member to looking at continuous improvement in our daily activities.Exhibit a collaborative approach to ensure that customer needs are prioritised and satisfied to meet set service levels.Contribute to strategic planning of site service and installations.Provide technical advice to the Site Service Supervisor for service and components for contracts.Attend training and to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills.Show flexibility under urgent or breakdown conditions in order to service customer requirements.Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications: Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Fitting.Advantageous to have experience working with HPGR's or similar equipment.Dogging and Rigging Tickets with relevant industry experience.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Be flexible for a combination of workshop and field work.Be available to travel internationally for product training.Founded in 1871, Weir is a world leading engineering business with a purpose to make mining operations smarter, more efficient and sustainable.
