We are seeking a skilled Maintenance & Reliability Engineer , ideally with AC traction experience, to support the EVO class locomotives.
This role is vital in ensuring the reliability and performance of our advanced fleet.
About Your Role: Reporting to the Fleet Manager, you will: Participate in, and at times lead, investigations of in-service failures, analysing root causes and resolving critical issues.
Collaborate with Asset Management to review task lists and develop work instructions for the Spotswood site.
Conduct daily fleet performance reviews and deliver weekly/monthly reports to Pacific National, performing trend analysis to enhance performance within budget and contractual limits.
Recommend corrective actions and asset improvement initiatives, considering safety, cost, quality, and reliability.
Where acting as Functional Lead, you will develop plans and schedules for implementing these actions.
Monitor and ensure the accuracy of data used for performance reporting, addressing discrepancies to maintain high-quality reporting.
Oversee the configuration of assets and compliance with Technical Maintenance Plans, reporting any anomalies.
Attend and actively participate in meetings with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to facilitate issue resolution.
Ensure compliance with all record-keeping requirements.
About You: 4-year Engineering Degree in Electrical (preferred) or Mechanical, ideally with AC traction experience.
2 years' experience in the rail industry or similar heavy industry.
Strong communication skills (oral and written).
Ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels (both internally and externally).
Customer-focused, team-oriented, accountable, and results-driven.
Ability to work independently, organize and prioritize demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines, and follow through in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient skills in computers: MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience in Maintenance Management Systems (e.g., SAP) is desirable.
