Company DescriptionSteelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland's Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.
Dawson is located at the southern end of the Bowen Basin in Central Queensland, being just over a 2hrs drive west from either Rockhampton or Gladstone, or 4.5hrs drive north of the Darling Downs or South Burnett.
Job DescriptionAs the Maintenance Planner for our Dawson CHPP, you are responsible for planning, scheduling, and monitoring of the production and maintenance plans for approved work to ensure that the required resources are identified prior to commencement of work to enable the right delivery of work safely and efficiently.
To be successful in this role you must be able to demonstrate experience in knowledge production/maintenance planning principles and maintenance strategies for fixed plant, to ensure work packages are planned and finalised within cost and time constraints.
Key Responsibilities include: Workflow management will be a focus of this role to monitor completion of work activities and evaluate the effectiveness of maintenance plans delivered to a high standard aligning with the CHPP and outage plan.Provide clearly structured cost-effective plans to deliver weekly schedules that minimise downtime and utilise labour.Specify work conditions and constraints with effective control requirements, detailing conditions/constraints, hazard controls, permits, work instructions/procedures, and critical controls where appropriate.Determine the deliverable, scope of work, material, equipment, and labour requirements for approved maintenance and production work.Develop and complete maintenance schedules that specify task duration, task sequence(s), and detail the earliest start and latest start dates.Maintain maintenance reports, records, and work procedures, including histories, drawings, and inspection sheets, ensuring information is accurate, user-friendly, and available on request.Work in partnership with the execution team; Electrical Coordinator, Mechanical Coordinator, and Operational Supervisors to ensure the work is planned to approved specifications.Effective engagement with stakeholders through organised management routines.QualificationsRelevant electrical or mechanical trade qualification or engineering degree.Strong technical aptitude, working in a CHPP with fixed plant equipment.Confident and capable with understanding engineering drawings and complex data entry; strong SAP PM experience is a must, experience using MS Project, and R8/Orien is advantageous.Managing expectations of stakeholders at all levels to ensure consistent planning for production and maintenance strategies.Strong safety focus with a preventative/proactive approach to planning work.Drive continuous improvement to support high performance and quality standards.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Additional InformationThis is a Monday to Friday role, based in Moura, Queensland.Anglo American supports flexible working arrangements.Company provided FIFO.Subsidised accommodation options and relocation assistance to Moura are available.What we offer:
