Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Planner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and overseeing the maintenance operations to ensure optimal performance of farm machinery and egg production facilities. This role is crucial in minimizing downtime and supporting our farm's productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement maintenance strategies, plans, and processes for farm equipment and production systems, ensuring alignment with safety standards and operational requirements. Schedule and coordinate maintenance activities to prevent disruptions in farm operations, particularly focusing on critical egg production machinery. Conduct regular inspections and assessments of equipment to identify needs for preventive maintenance or urgent repairs. Create and manage maintenance documentation and records, ensuring all activities are logged and compliant with industry standards. Collaborate with farm management to prioritize maintenance tasks based on urgency and resource availability. Source and manage inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies. Work closely with external contractors and service providers, overseeing repair and maintenance works to ensure quality and efficiency. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance procedures and cost efficiency. Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and practices on the farm. Specific Duties on the Farm:
Oversee the maintenance of egg collection conveyors, automated feeding systems, and climate control systems to ensure uninterrupted egg production. Plan and coordinate the upkeep of farm vehicles and heavy machinery used in daily farm operations. Address and resolve specific technical challenges related to egg production, including optimizing the performance of incubators and ventilation systems. Oversee the maintenance program for servicing of vehicles, trucks, tractors and other farm machinery as required. Qualifications/Experience:
Minimum of Diploma in a relevant field, alternatively, 5 years' experience can substitute for formal qualifications. Proven experience as a Maintenance Planner, ideally in an agricultural or manufacturing setting, in a similar environment. Technical proficiency in managing maintenance operations and understanding mechanical systems. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with team members and external suppliers. A commitment to safety and quality standards. Relevant qualifications in engineering, maintenance planning, or a related field are highly regarded. SALARY $73K - $83K pa
