APO has been contracted by North Queensland Export Terminal to manage the operations at the port of Abbot Point – Australia's most northerly coal port – 25 kilometres north of Bowen, between Townsville to the north and Mackay to the south. About the role: The Maintenance Planner is a critical contributor to the successful delivery of sustainable performance for our operations, providing a data-driven baseline from which to execute, analyse and improve. Reporting to the Engineering and Planning Superintendent, this position is responsible for planning work to meet the needs of the Maintenance Management Strategy to ensure auxiliary systems maintenance work is allocated efficiently and in line with APO's Maintenance Work Management System and Processes.
Responsibilities: Maintenance planning, scheduling and management of register. Develop, plan and schedule maintenance in relation to the following assets: Overhead gantry cranes, air compressors, light vehicles, mobile plant, generators trailers, lifting and rigging equipment. Infrastructure for fire systems, refueling, water management – sump and dewatering pumps.Assess SAP notifications and other work requests and recommend options for maintenance planning.Manage the day-to-day short and long-term maintenance planning and scheduling activities.Ensure all required planning activities are completed on time in accordance with the authorised maintenance work management system.Monitor and report planning KPI's for plan compliance.Effectively engage contractors and suppliers to support short-term plan execution in line with Abbot Point Commercial Requirements.Provide technical assistance and support to other departments.Review and update rolling 12-month maintenance spend forecast as input into maintenance business plan and advise of critical issues.About You: To be successful in this role you will need: Previous experience in heavy industry in a planning position.Exposure to CMMS software, preferably SAP.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to problem solve.Advanced computer skills particularly MS Office programs Word, Excel and SAP experience desirable.Ability to obtain an MSIC when required.White Card.In return you will be rewarded with: Competitive remuneration package.Remote Area Housing Salary Sacrifice.Relocation Assistance.Work/Life balance to enjoy your leisure time surrounded by the beautiful Whitsundays.The role is residentially based in Bowen, North Queensland.
