The opportunity
Vacenti is seeking a Full-time Maintenance Officer to join the Hotel Services Team. This role will be required to work at our site at Marebello in Victoria Point, QLD. Reporting to, and working closely with the Maintenance Manager, Hotel Services Manager and Facility Manager, this role will be tasked with carrying out general maintenance services as required at our residential aged care facilities, to meet and exceed the needs of our residents, and employees. The Maintenance Officer is also responsible for the monitoring & maintenance of our site assets, while ensuring a secure and safe environment for all stakeholders. Additionally, this role is required to engage and manage contractors for works as authorised by the Facility Manager.
The Maintenance Officer will work in accordance with the values of Vacenti and support core business by providing service, guidance and advice within this position's specialty area.
Your main responsibilities will include: Proactively identify and respond to general maintenance requirements in a timely manner as directed by Facility Managers, and the Maintenance Manager.Demonstrate the ability to work autonomously, but also within a team environment when required.Demonstrate good time-management skills, including the ability to prioritise and follow through on tasks effectively.Maintain maintenance records in a timely manner, and with accuracy.Ensure the preventable maintenance schedule is adhered to & up to date, in order to minimise reactive maintenance.Ensure any request for maintenance is responded to in a timely manner, & that the request is documented in accordance with Vacenti policy & procedures.Maintain a good working relationship & clear communication lines with all other members of the RACF team (both at a local & shared services level).Maintain all machinery, equipment, and furniture to ensure it's at working standards.Conduct regular inspections of the facilities to detect and resolve problems.Arranging and supervising contractors undertaking maintenance on site.Conduct follow-ups on all maintenance and capital work.Relocation of equipment, and furniture both internally and externally as directed by the Facility Manager.Liaise with both internal & external stakeholders (residents, families, contractors & visitors) in a compassionate, helpful manner that best reflects Vacenti's values.Demonstrate a good understanding of infection control practices.Wear and maintain personal protective equipment as directed, as indicated in a risk assessment, or as required in safe work procedures.To be successful in this position you will need: Relevant experience in facility maintenance service delivery and management.Trade certificate or other relevant building / trade qualifications (desirable).Great time-management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.Capacity to develop strong working relationships with a variety of staff.Demonstrated ability to analyse complex issues, identify opportunities and develop solutions to maintenance issues.Demonstrate understanding of relevant WHS requirements in relation to maintenance role & service.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.To be considered for this opportunity you must have the right to live and work in Australia.
