Based in Virginia South Australia, we have recently completed a major upgrade to automate our production facility.
We are seeking a proactive dynamic 'hands on' Maintenance Manager to lead a small team in a critical leadership role ensuring all machinery, equipment and facilities are fit for purpose, operating efficiently, and complying with Quality, Food Safety and WHS requirements.
Your Tasks & Responsibilities: Further evolve and manage preventative maintenance schedules, ensuring that all members of the team are fully completing tasks in the MEX system.Provide technical direction to the maintenance team to deliver effective maintenance in a FMCG environment.Ensure that all maintenance personnel adhere to continuous improvement and 5S principles.Ensure that the workshop area is maintained in a clean and operational state.Ensure that in the event of machinery breakdown, that machinery is repaired as effectively and efficiently as possible in line with WHS and Quality and Food Safety requirements and that the area is returned in a fit for production state.Develop and maintain inventory requirements for critical and non-critical spares based on assessment of operational demand and within cost parameters, including commissioning a store on site.Ensure work undertaken complies with HACCP, Food Safety and Quality guidelines.This will be a hands-on role, although you are not the first point of contact for a breakdown, you will still be required to have a good understanding of all maintenance of plant and equipment, diagnostics and fault finding and provide technical support to the production team.Conduct root cause analysis of any failures and develop improvements to prevent future occurrences.On site we have a mixture of processing type equipment, including but not limited to: roller and belt conveyors, chain rollers, shuttles, pneumatics, hydraulics, 2D & 3D Burg Robots, Tomra Sentinel II, Wyma Wash line, Sorma Palletisers & CFC Machines, Innotech Vertical Form Fill Seal machines, FH Bag on Roll, Equaft wicket baggers and Verbruggen palletisers.Skills & Experience required: Experience in preventative maintenance in a FMCG environment.Demonstrate a high level of leadership and mentoring.Experience in PLC programming for both issue resolution and modification; SCADA and VSD configuration skills will be valued.Ability to collaborate effectively with other key members of the operations team including supervisors, machinery operators, and the senior management team.Relevant trade qualifications, a B class electrical license, and welding certificate.Experience in troubleshooting and fault finding on highly automated production lines.Ability to work autonomously and safely under pressure.A positive work attitude and professional manner.Demonstrate a high degree of accuracy and technical aptitude.Flexibility to undertake a variety of duties as required.Subcontractor Management.Available for immediate start.
This role requires a person that can think on their feet and be proactive and be able to manage workloads for not only themselves but their key staff.
