Location: Townsville Category: Business Support Position Type: Permanent Job Reference: BOE/1836903 No File Attached Share This: The Opportunity Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services team are seeking a number of experienced Aviation Maintenance (145 / MRO) Professionals to support a world class rotary-wing platform as Maintenance Managers (Flight Operations Support).
These roles are based at RAAF Base Townsville in tropical North Queensland and supports the Apache Program.
Working side by side with our Australian Defence Force Customer, you will play a vital role in the co-ordination of maintenance of Boeing AH-64 Apache' systems and associated equipment utilising your leadership and technical skills applying teams to tasks in the workplace.
We have positions for suitable personnel who must also hold a C MAML and have acted as a Maintenance Manager previously.
The successful candidate will ideally possess knowledge and understanding of Defence's rotary wing environmental structure and capability, and have experience overseeing and leading technical teams across the business .
Technical training on the aircraft may require the successful applicant to travel overseas or domestically for periods of time to achieve Military Aircraft Type Rating for their MAML.
Responsibilities The Maintenance Manager (Flight Operations Support) is responsible to the perform management and maintenance functions supporting the BDA maintenance labour hire within the Apache Program.
You will - Manage and Lead your maintenance team in enabling maintenance outcomes supporting serviceability and online metrics for the Apache flying program; Monitor the Apache flying program and allocate aircraft to sorties, ensuring that assigned aircraft are correctly prepared, configured, equipped and replenished; Manage the flying aircraft by, coordinating the aircraft replenishment and maintenance, in support of the flying program; Coordinate the flying aircraft's transfer back to maintenance at the completion of daily flying.
Ensuring aircraft are prepared for the next day's flying program; Attend maintenance operational planning meeting and setting priorities of the daily maintenance requirements; Ensure all line maintenance requirements are pushed in the aircraft maintenance management system; Release aircraft to operator complying with the Maintenance Organisation Release and Dispatch to Operator functions; Providing technical assistance to aircrew in relation to aircraft acceptance and release; Coordinate Maintenance Test Flight (MTF) activities; Manage aircraft Rate of Effort (ROE) to ensure aircraft meet their respective maintenance plans; Monitor the flight line for safe operations during fueling and flying operations; Invoke the Emergency Response Plan as required; Coordinate and assist aircraft movements.
To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate Previous experience in maintenance co-ordination or similar role with aviation; Previous experience working with maintenance management systems; Strong interpersonal and communication skills; Strong leadership and management skills Ability to manage competing priorities in a high tempo operating environment; High level of computer literacy; Experience working in a safety critical environment.
Ability to obtain a 'NV1' Security clearance.
Experience/Qualifications Cert IV in Aeroskills (Mechanical or Avionics).
Be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of DASR Part 145 Aircraft Maintenance Regulatory Framework and aviation Quality Assurance (QA) procedures Hold a DASR Part 66 Military Aircraft Maintenance Licence (MAML) - Category C Previous experience as Maintenance Manager (essential) A high level of verbal and written communication skills Ability to successfully interact with co-workers, maintaining productive working relationships to meet team, business unit and organisational goals.
Be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of Environment, Health and Safety procedures.
Able to obtain and maintain a defence security clearance of NV1.
