CSF Proteins is a division of Ridley, processing meat by-products to manufacture protein meals and tallows. Our Laverton rendering plant is the largest renderer in Victoria, with five high capacity processing lines running continuously, 24 hours a day/6 days a week.
To support this growing, high automation operation, we're looking to hire a qualified Maintenance Fitter- Fabricator to work a 7 day roster, working rotating day, afternoon and night shifts Sunday to Saturday. The Role This full-time trade qualified fitter fabricator role will be based in our Laverton processing site, working in conjunction with an outstanding maintenance team. The successful applicant will have a diverse range of duties and will suit a proactive, self-motivated and safety focused maintenance fitter who has experience working in an environment where continuous improvement is at the fore front of daily activities. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, will be working with our amazing maintenance team, responding to breakdowns and ensuring our equipments are running smoothly with limited down time with a positive and proactive attitude reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the key purpose of this role is to maintain and repair equipment and provide assistance in solving processing issues with equipment at the plant.
Key responsibilities for this position include: Maintain the equipment and take corrective troubleshooting actions as requiredMonitor the operation of individual plant items (as required) and be able to identify abnormal operating conditions.Report problems that may affect the safety of plant & personnel, the quality of product or risk to the environment.Comply with relevant OHS/WHS as per Ridleys policies and ProceduresParticipate in Safety, Quality & Environment initiatives including training.Maintain the work place and apply good housekeeping procedures.Key skills required for this role include: Trade QualificationsWelding QualificationsMotor vehicle licenceMechanical aptitudePrevious experience in a meat processing / Maintenance environmentGood problem-solving and analytical skillsExperience in rebuilding Pumps, Cylinders, gearboxes.Able to work as part of a team, carry out risk assessments.Able to follow written instructionsGood communication and numeracy skillsPhysically fit to undertake manual and repetitive tasksHow to apply If this is you please visit www.ridley.com.au/about/vacancies and provide both your resume and cover letter.
