Here at Mars Wrigley (MW) are looking for Maintenance Fitter to join the MW Supply Team based in Asquith. Home to many well-known brands such as Skittles, Extra & Eclipse, we are proud to make some of Australia's most loved confectionery brands. This is a full-time position. This role not only looks after the maintenance of the factory equipment but the total reliability of the site. Under the direction of the Team Leader and Leading Hand you will be accountable for maintaining and improving our mechanical equipment while adhering to all Quality and Safety standards and procedures. The maintenance team is a highly motivated, very engaged team and we want to keep building this culture with the successful applicant. What would be your key responsibilities? Preventative maintenance on machines as well as building and strengthening the programs we have in place Repair faulty / broken manufacturing and utility equipment whilst identifying the root cause of the issue Completing required paperwork related to breakdowns, safety, and quality Ensuring all lines are fully operational and any potential fault is immediately addressed with a sense of urgency Complying with quality, housekeeping, safety and cleaning procedures. What are we looking for? Recognised Mechanical Trade Qualification (Cert 3 Engineering Trade) Previous maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment (FMCG, food production or similar) Mechanical fault finding and problem-solving skills Welding experience preferable Ability to operate general workshop machine tools E.g. Lathe, mill, drill Strong focus on the customer and other people, their concerns and requirements, with a proactive attitude to assist them Understands the importance of working with a sense of urgency and remaining calm under high pressure situations Open and honest communication skills; always being visible to the operators Prepare and support factory start up and shutdowns Identify root causes and carry out continuous improvements to site safety, product quality and operational efficiency If you're wanting to join a business where there is lots of autonomy and responsibility, then this is for you!
