Job Overview: Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, as a Maintenance Fitter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production machinery, assembly machinery, and equipment.
You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repairs to minimize downtime and optimize production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities: Perform regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs on machinery and equipment.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
Install, align, and set up new machinery and equipment according to specifications.
Collaborate with the production team to ensure machinery and equipment are functioning optimally.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, parts used, and time spent.
Adhere to safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
Assist in developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs.
Use of continuous improvement to ensure optimal safety, efficiency, and quality.
Qualifications: Proven experience as a Maintenance Fitter role in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and equipment installation.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
PLC programming experience would be viewed favourably.
Proficiency in using hand and power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic instruments.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to work.
Relevant trade qualifications or certifications in mechanical fitting, maintenance, or engineering.
Understanding of OH&S and ISO requirements.
