Maintenance Fitter - Charters Towers QLD JOHNEX explosives manufactures commercial explosives for the Australian mining industry. Our Charters Towers operation is currently seeking a dynamic, self-motivated person to complement our team.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position is responsible for the maintenance of all plant, equipment, and vehicles on site.
Key Responsibilities Demonstrate experience in maintenance support within an industrial setting.Perform mechanical repairs, service various plant and machinery, and conduct fault finding for breakdowns.Maintain stock of hydraulic, mechanical, electronic, and pneumatic materials.Complete mechanical checklists and weekly inspections of plant and machinery.Perform planning and scheduling tasks and other general duties as required.Qualifications & Experience A recognised Australian Trade Certificate (Mechanical Engineering or Metal Trades) is essential.Minimum 5 years' experience working in the maintenance or workshop industries is preferred.Proven experience following safety practices and contributing to a strong safety culture.Ability to work in a team or alone and to achieve successful results.Applicants must be over the age of 18 and the following are required:
A police clearance.Ability to pass a drug and alcohol screening.Ability to obtain an Explosives Security Clearance.Have own transport to and from site.A first aid ticket and any experience gained within the explosives industry will be highly regarded.
