Maintenance Fitter - 3Rd Year Apprentices Considered

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading Australian ice manufacturer and distributor, seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join their team in Prospect.
About the Role: Reporting to the State Operations Manager, you will oversee the maintenance of the plant to ensure optimal performance.
The role operates Monday to Friday, from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm, and full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities: Ensure daily mechanical serviceability of production lines, minimizing downtime Perform maintenance tasks across the entire plant as required Collaborate with the State Operations Manager on preventative maintenance programs Efficiently manage maintenance shutdowns and maintain records of planned and unplanned stoppages Contribute to projects and equipment modifications for improved efficiency and reliability Oversee contractors on-site to ensure safety and minimise operational disruption Manage spare parts ordering and stock control.
Skills & Experience Required: Experience with packaging machinery, conveying systems, palletising systems, robotics, and pneumatics Trade qualification with at least 2 years' experience as a Maintenance Fitter in a food or beverage FMCG manufacturing environment Familiarity with HACCP and food safety standards A proactive, positive attitude and strong team orientation Safety-conscious with good housekeeping practices Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively Refrigeration experience is a plus but not essential Why Apply?
