About the Role As a member of the Facilities and Maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining school buildings, grounds, infrastructure and equipment to the highest possible standard to provide an efficient, effective and safe teaching and learning environment for staff and students.
Positive and collaborative workplace culture 24 weeks of paid parental leave (maternity/adoption) Up to 14 weeks paid parental leave (paternity/non-initial primary carer leave) Support for professional development and study opportunities Key Responsibilities Undertake maintenance tasks as directed by the teamManage door hardware and lock systems in schoolsRespond to school requests for assistance with maintenance itemsWork with contractors to assist them in undertaking more extensive school maintenance worksDrive the CE maintenance vehicle and trailerAttendance to remote and regional schools with potential to work away from home overnight at timesDemonstrated experience in a maintenance role with skill levels and required knowledge and training equivalent to the completion of a trade qualification in your area of expertiseSound computer literacy skills for email, ordering and managing the schools maintenance scheduling programDemonstrated knowledge and understanding of legislation that relates to buildings, construction and Work Health and SafetyOrganised with a demonstrated ability to multi-task to ensure work is adequately prioritised and completed to a high standard within timeframesSelf-motivated with a strong attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously and be responsible and accountable for own work while working as part of a teamQualifications Current working with children registration/clearance Current driver's license with a minimum light rigid license or willingness to acquire one is required to drive the College busQualified carpenter, or suitable similar trade and experienceElevated Work Platform license requiredExperience in driving a work van and standard box trailerScissor lift operatorWhite card, working at heights and asbestos certified Please refer to the position description for an in-depth detail regarding position duties, criteria and skill set required.
