We are currently seeking a Manager, Engineering and Maintenance to join our Coppabella- Moorvale Joint Venture. Our Coppabella-Moorvale mine complex consists of two open-cut mine operations located approximately 140 kilometres southwest of Mackay that produce premium low-volatile pulverised coal (LV-PCI) for export markets. About the role: Reporting to the Executive General Manager, your purpose will be to provide safe continued asset performance of all mobile mining plant assets to meet Peabody Energy goals of production, unit cost, safety and environmental integrity. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Ensure compliance with all Statutory Act & Regulatory requirements & all CMJV Mine policies and procedures, ensure record keeping is maintained to a up to date standard and in an orderly fashion Participate in the development and implementation of Principal Hazard Management Plans and confirm that they are reviewed and modified in accordance with company and site requirements (time based, change or an event-based review) Co-ordinate (in conjunction with the Operations Manager/SEE) the appropriate and adequate training and assessment of all engineering personnel in their duties and responsibilities (including SOP's and SWP's) Verify through inspections, audits and interviews that persons employed on maintenance and engineering tasks are competent to the standard required and are authorised to perform the task without exposing themselves, other persons, the mine or its equipment to unacceptable risk Ensure that Site Safe actions are closed out in a timely manner Actively promote the Four Pillars of the Peabody Leadership Model (Inspire, Innovate, Execute, Collaborate) Manage contractors and hold contractors to account for performance and deliverable as per agreements in place Enforce & maintain the maintenance "Best Practice" technique to ensure that Peabody's equipment is maintained to a high safety, productive & reliable standard Develop and drive maintenance budget Develop and take an active role in LOM planning and assets LCC planning. About you: It's expected that you'll come from a similar background with extensive leadership experience and be well versed in engineering and maintenance practices within our industry. You'll bring mining management experience in engineering and maintenance operations, managing and developing processes, reporting, systems and people. You will also bring:- Minimum 10 years post trade maintenance experience with mobile mining equipment. 5 years coal mining experience in a managerial role for engineering and maintenance. High level of understanding and knowledge of CMMS (SAP) systems. Strong budgeting, planning and reporting experience. Continuous Improvement methodologies know how. Knowledge of conducting safety and compliance audits, inspections and completing JSEA's, Risk assessments & Permits. Requirements for the position: Engineering degree / equivalent or a trade qualification with applicable subsequent management-level development and experience Tertiary qualifications in Maintenance & Asset Management (highly desirable) Leadership or Business qualification / experience such as Lean (desirable) ICAM and/or RCA certificate of competence (desirable) Recognised Competencies under the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act The lifestyle: This position is offered on a 9-day fortnight (Monday to Friday, Monday to Thursday) roster and can allow for a residential (Moranbah/Mackay) DIDO or FIFO (Brisbane) lifestyle.
