About the Role
We are currently recruiting a Mechanical Engineer to join our Maintenance team at our Kwinana Pigment Plant on a full-time permanent basis.
Working a 9-day fortnight on a 38-hour week, the Mechanical Engineer will be required to apply sound engineering practices to maintain plant to specified operating rates and lifecycle costs.
The Mechanical Maintenance Engineering role will work closely with the operations team and maintain high levels of safety and environmental compliance.
Accountable for identifying and implementing improvements to advance daily maintenance execution, the role's primary duties will include:
Identify reliability improvement opportunities and lead (or participate in) implementing these improvement projects to enable safe, reliable and efficient operation.
Provide technical support (including repair scopes and field troubleshooting) to planning and maintenance execution when required during unplanned maintenance and planned shutdown.
Managing small projects (OpEx Operational Expenses) and initiate then contribute at subsequent stages in capital project (CapEx Capital Expenses).
Analyse maintenance and reliability metrics, report monthly and lead execution detractors' elimination projects to improve mechanical integrity, improve equipment uptime and reduce cost.
Perform engineering design calculations as needed and liaise with maintenance, projects, process, and operation team as required.
Develop SOW for unplanned remedial work or planned work (by exception).
Assist the Maintenance Coordinator in improving the execution of scheduled maintenance tasks.
Revise maintenance procedures and strategies to reduce unplanned maintenance and improve equipment design after completion of root cause failure analysis.
Play an active role in improving the condition of both rotating and static equipment.
About You
To be successful in this role you will need to possess:
Tertiary engineering qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical Engineering.
Experience in a chemical processing environment will be highly advantageous.
The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with key stakeholders at various levels within the business.
Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
Project & maintenance management experience.
Knowledge & application of equipment reliability strategies.
Budget management skills for operational and capital expenditure.
Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards.
