About Our RoleSimplot Australia are seeking applications from suitably certified and experienced candidates for the role of Maintenance Electrician (Shift) to work as part of our Engineering Maintenance team on a full-time permanent basis at our Kelso plant. Our Kelso operation is our seafood and snacking processing plant producing 75 SKUs for the retail and foodservice markets. The site employs about 100 people. The site produces about 50 tonnes of product each day, and approximately 95% of items are made of either Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) or Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) seafood.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role will provide electrical services to our large scale production operations, and will work a rotating roster (day / afternoon / night) Monday - Saturday. With base rates ranging from $41.29 - $45.23 p/h (dependent on certifications & experience) + shift allowances + site allowances + penalties & overtime opportunities (where applicable), this is a great opportunity for those suitably certified tradespeople looking to demonstrate a high degree of competency in the electrical field with a global leader in food production.
What You Will DoReporting to the Engineering Manager, duties will include (but are not limited to the following):
Ensure fixed plant and equipment is maintained as per the maintenance schedule whilst maintaining safety and maximising production requirements.PLC and electrically controlled systems diagnostics, fault finding, programming and connections.Working in conjunction with other on-site trades (mechanical fitters + contractors) + production staff to ensure scheduled and breakdown maintenance activities are completed to a high standard of quality with a focus on safety.Participating in continual improvement processes.Application of operational standards and procedures.About YouPossess a 100% commitment to safety in the workplace.Hold a current NSW Electrical Licence (mandatory).Demonstrated diagnostic, fault finding and troubleshooting skills.Experience with fixed plant electrical works.Experience in safety & quality systems and procedures.Ability to read and interpret schematics (advantageous).Minimum 3-5 years demonstrated maintenance experience within an FMCG industry plant (highly desirable but not essential).Possess a high level of both written and verbal communication skills in addition to time management skills.Intermediate user of Windows-based systems and CMMS experience.Ability to work proactively whilst unsupervised whilst also being able to contribute to a team environment.Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical incl. urine based drug & alcohol screening.The PerksFully supplied and laundered uniform + boots + PPE.Supportive team environment.On-site soft tissue specialist appointments.Income Protection Insurance.On-site canteen.On-site parking.Please click the "Apply" button to submit your covering letter outlining your suitability for the role AND an up to date resume (must include 2x work related referees).
