Maintenance Crew Leader (Roads and Drains) $71,286 pa (including industry and uniform allowances) + 12% super + leave loading - please note, progression in remuneration (up to Level 8 - $75,378 pa including allowances + super) is available for this position upon meeting performance and training requirements outlined in a structured crew leader framework. Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream B) - Level 6 of the EBA5 9 day fortnight 76 hour fortnight As a Crew Leader working within the Roads and Drains team, you will lead and work alongside a small team (primarily a labourer) to execute assigned maintenance tasks on Council's civil and transport infrastructure assets. You'll be taking the lead in identifying and allocating necessary resources/materials for task completion and detecting defect causes in assets to propose effective and prompt solutions. Additionally, you'll be required to use technology/software to update and manage work orders and administrative tasks.
More specifically, this position will have you performing a variety of general labouring duties including:
removal of debris fixing and replacing signs fixing pathway, kerb and channel issues lintel and grate replacement small headwall repairs or replacements addressing traffic island defects maintaining other infrastructure and areas as needed Your hands on involvement and leadership skills will be crucial in maintaining the safety and functionality of our community's infrastructure.

About you Ideally you will have demonstrated recent hands on experience in civil and/or transport infrastructure maintenance and some experience leading people previously. We'll definitely need you to bring your strong communication skills for effective interaction with both internal and external stakeholders, proven ability to perform manual tasks in safety oriented environments, proficiency with relevant technology and capability to handle basic administrative duties.
Paired with the above mentioned skills and experience, you will also hold:
a current truck licence (minimum medium rigid - MR) a Construction Induction card (or be willing to obtain prior to commencement) a Traffic Management Implementation licence and a high risk work dogging (HRW DG) licence (or be willing to obtain within 6 months of commencement) Having a Certificate III in Civil Construction or a similar qualification in a relevant field is highly desirable. However this qualification is essential for advancing through the Crew Leader Framework.
