The Role We seek expressions of interest from experienced Maintenance Assistants with plumbing qualifications and experience to support the day-to-day maintenance of our school's buildings and grounds. This role will primarily focus on plumbing tasks, such as repairs and installations, but will also include general maintenance duties. This full-time ongoing position is based at the Keilor East campus, but you will work across other campuses as required.
The successful candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe and functional environment for the school community.
Duties include: Perform routine plumbing maintenance and repairs, including fixing leaks, clearing drains, and installing fixtures (taps, toilets, etc.). Assist with general maintenance tasks such as painting, carpentry, and minor electrical work. Troubleshoot and repair plumbing systems, including water heaters, pipes, and irrigation systems. Conduct regular inspections of plumbing systems to identify potential issues. Support the Facilities Manager with ad-hoc tasks as required. Respond to maintenance requests, including minor repairs, painting and cleaning tasks. Comply with school policies, Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards, and legal requirements.
