Peppers Silo Hotel is an inspiring $30 million redevelopment of the Kings Wharf grain silos in Launceston, Tasmania. The nine-storey hotel consists of 108 rooms, including 52 in the barrels of the former silos, and overlooks the nearby tourist drawcards of Seaport, Royal Park, the Tamar River Basin and Cataract Gorge. On our ground floor you will find Silo Day Spa, and Level 1 you will find Grain of the Silos offering dining experiences across the restaurant, café and Woody's Bar where local produce is at the heart of all creations. Purpose As Maintenance Assistant, you will be the master of all trades, prepared to take on any maintenance, repair, paint job or improvement challenge that may arise. You possess the ability to spot issues before they escalate (today's leak could become tomorrow's flood!) and you skilfully employ your handy tools to address a diverse range of tasks, ensuring the property remains in impeccable condition.
Primary Responsibilities Take charge of ensuring that all rooms, amenities, and communal spaces within the property are well-maintained and in excellent condition Assist the onsite painter with projects such as full apartment repaints/ plastering works and painting throughout the building for Body Corporate works. Once confident within the role, carry out painting projects unsupervised Complete silicone works throughout apartments & within the building Collaborate with a diverse team, requiring both a cooperative mindset and the ability to work independently High focus on guest interaction within a 5 star environment Encounter stimulating challenges that require innovative solutions Skills and Experience Comfortable in a physical role, have a get-up-and-go attitude and be someone who won't stop until the job is completed in a safe and presentable manner Prior experience in property maintenance, painting/plastering & silicone required, familiarity with preventative maintenance programs is a plus Confident in communicating effectively at all levels, from the General Manager, to guests and contractors working onsite Capable of embracing a flexible rotating schedule, including weekends, evenings and public holidays
