Cement Australia has an exciting opportunity for a maintenance and shutdown supervisor to join our Bulwer Island Team. This role will include coordinating maintenance activities and is responsible for directing and aligning internal and external maintenance personnel to effectively and efficiently perform all maintenance activities within scope and budget.
About the role:
The position is responsible for coordinating and overseeing all shutdown activities to align with the scope and budget. The role is responsible for managing the planning and stores operations, ensuring all processes and procedures are followed. Will be a key contributor to the mid-term planning process. Other duties can include:
Coordinate, control and ensure the implementation of WHSE plans for all maintenance and shutdown activities.
Management of the planners and weekly planning activities to ensure the effective planning and execution of weekly maintenance activities and annual maintenance shutdowns.
Play a key role in supporting the team, ensuring safety practices and observations are undertaken frequently.
Support the reliability team in the execution of identified activities to reduce risk.
Ensure maintenance activities are prioritised to support the annual maintenance budget requirements, managing the timing and spend to ensure accurate weekly forecast and cost control.
Manage the stores and site inventory, keep the cost of inventory on target and reduce it when required.
Manage third party contractors ensuring compliance to company policies and procedures and managing third party cost savings.
Identify areas of improvement for direct reports, including the mentoring of the maintenance planners and supporting the development and performance of the maintainer operators.
Comply with Cement Australia shutdown management procedure to support a successful shutdown execution.
Support the site project portfolio for execution during shutdowns.
Responsible for the end-to-end Shutdown process with focus on timely completion, within budget and zero safety incidents.
About you:
Tertiary education qualification (Mechanical or Electrical)
Operational experience within the manufacturing, mining or construction industry
Proven experience managing teams
Strong leadership and communications skills
Experience in working with programs such as SAP, MS Projects, Microsoft Office Suite
