Job DescriptionJob Description Reporting to the Depot Manager, the position includes the following responsibilities:
Safely drive locomotives on assigned routes, ensuring compliance with all railway signals, traffic regulations, and operational procedures.Ensuring safe & efficient shunting activities.Inspect the locomotive and equipment before departure, ensuring that everything is in good working order.Perform assigned duties in accordance with SCT Rail's policies and work instructions.Ensure timely and accurate documentation of train movements and operational data.Commitment to safety in the workplace.Ensure compliance with all of SCT's OHS policies, procedures and applicable state and federal legislation.A strong customer focus orientation.Be able to work in a team environment and in some cases unsupervised.Desired Skills and ExperienceDesired Skills and Experience The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
Certificate IV in Train Driving.Good interpersonal and communication skills.Current Track Access Permit (TAP).Valid Driver's License.A strong commitment to safety.Be reasonably fit and agile to meet the demands of the job.All applicants please note: The successful candidate will be required to complete a full Pre-Employment CAT1 medical, including drug and alcohol screening, and an Australian Federal Police check prior to commencement.
