We are partnering with a global investment firm to find a talented Macro Research Analyst to join their Sydney-based hedge fund team.

About the Role:
As part of the Systematic Global Macro team, you will play a critical role in managing portfolios across multiple asset classes.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Developing and overseeing systematic quantitative models and processes integral to the firm's investment strategy.
Collaborating with team members to solve quantitative investment challenges.
Applying quantitative tools and data to generate investment insights in global markets, including stocks, bonds, currencies, and commodities.
The firm values a collaborative yet autonomous work style and provides a supportive environment where curiosity, diligence, and an active desire to learn are essential for success.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and refine quantitative models that support investment decision-making.
Provide broad quantitative analysis across a variety of asset classes.
Communicate effectively with database developers and other quantitative teams.
Take ownership of research ideas and work independently, while maintaining alignment with broader team objectives.

What We're Looking For:
A strong academic background in Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related fields.
4–6 years of market experience preferred, but candidates with strong quantitative experience and relevant degrees (Master's/PhD/Bachelor's) will be considered.
Programming skills in tools such as R, Python, or Matlab, with familiarity in Excel and Bloomberg, Factset, or Datastream being a plus.
Experience with capital markets, portfolio theory, and statistical analysis.
