This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned technology leader to work closely with the Chief Information and Digital Officer to reshape University technology delivery, drive digital innovation and deliver operational effectiveness in a high performing, outcomes orientated team.About the RoleAs the CTO, you will drive the technology and operational excellence strategy for the University supporting the University's mission and strategic priorities, digital transformation and overall technology ecosystem.
You will play a pivotal role in delivering digital innovation and will lead the execution of efficient and secure technology services in a product based operational services model.
Reporting to the Chief Information and Digital Officer (CIDO), you will oversee the end-to-end technology portfolio, and lead the development and implementation of the technology roadmap providing strategic leadership across research, student, corporate, core infrastructure, and health systems.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide vision leadership and strategic direction in the design and implementation of a market leading, 160-person product-based operational support model.Lead a large team through six senior managers across five key domains, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement and high performance, efficient operations delivery.Develop and execute the University's technology strategy, aligning with its mission and strategic priorities.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver resilient, scalable, and secure IT solutions.Drive digital transformation initiatives, enhancing the experience for students, staff, and faculty.Manage budgets, vendor relationships, and in partnership with specialist senior stakeholders, ensure compliance with data governance and cybersecurity standards.What We're Looking ForA degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.Proven experience in leadership of technology strategy, operational leadership, and product-based support models with at least 15 years of management experience in IT.Strong expertise in cloud, networking, applications, and IT architecture.Exceptional leadership and change management skills, with a track record of driving organizational transformation.Experience in large-scale, highly regulated environments, ideally government or higher education preferred.Why Join UsAt Macquarie University we are bold, distinctive, and transformative.
