What role will you play? As a Principal Engineer, you will lead and mentor multiple engineering teams, guiding them through application design and architecture and contribute to business requirements, ensuring that technical solutions align with business goals. You will design and build integrations between multiple microservices using your hands-on experience with microservice frameworks.
You will collaborate in an agile environment, create user stories and acceptance criteria while identifying potential risks while focusing on delivering value, and keeping business objectives at the forefront of development efforts. You will apply DevOps principles, leading the team toward automation, implementing CI/CD pipelines, and supporting incident management and design, develop, and implement APIs, ensuring they meet high standards of reliability and performance.
What you offer Proven experience in a leadership capacity Solid background in Java with a strong understanding of software development best practices Proven track record of leading microservice integration, focusing on reliability and quality within complex ecosystems Proficiency in developing microservices using Spring Boot, along with skills in containerisation, cloud technologies, and service orchestration Hands-on expertise in event-based and message-oriented distributed systems (e.g., Solace, Pub/Sub) Extensive background with automated API and integration testing, including knowledge of relevant tools Exposure to payments or cards products and/or API-based financial services platforms is a plus.
