About this opportunity: As a Senior Development Compliance Officer (SDCO), you will lead the management and resolution of complex development compliance cases, collaborating with internal teams, developers, and the community. You will oversee investigations into planning control breaches, provide expert advice, and contribute to maintaining high standards across the Mackay area. In this role, you will offer technical and practical expertise on development compliance matters, administer and enforce development-related legislation, and provide guidance on compliance issues. Additionally, you will lead the Development Compliance function, offering technical support and mentorship to Development Compliance Officers.
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills: Qualifications in Planning, Building, Legal Studies, Investigation and Compliance or related discipline Current QLD "C" Class drivers' licence. Practical experience in a supervisory role Thorough knowledge and application of Acts, Regulations and Policies relating to development including the Planning Act, Building Act, Plumbing and Drainage Act, relevant Australian Standards and Planning Schemes. Candidates who hold a QLD General Construction White Card and Tertiary Qualification (Cert IV and above) in Business Management or related field will be highly regarded.

Base annual salary of $90,623 Up to 18% superannuation (conditions apply). Choice of 4 or 5 weeks' annual leave with 17.5% leave loading.
