Port Lincoln Slipway Pty Ltd, established over 35 years ago, is based at Billy Lights Point, Port Lincoln South Australia, and specialises in marine maintenance, repairs, refurbishment, and surveys.
We provide services to clients across the Eyre Peninsula and Australia, and our workforce is highly trained and experienced.
Our specialised facilities allow Port Lincoln Slipway to perform almost all our customer requirements in-house, and we pride ourselves on upholding the best possible standards and practices, which is reflected in our certifications.
THE POSITION We have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified Machinist to join our team.
This position will report to the Manager and will be based at the Shipyards at Billy Lights Point in Port Lincoln.
Tasks for this position include, but are not limited to:
Using precision measuring instrumentsInterpreting and reviewing blueprints, technical drawings, and job tasksDetermining suitable materials for jobs, methods of operations, and using associated equipment and machineryMachine components to client requirements in an accurate and timely mannerFitting fabricated metals into products and assembling metal parts to produce equipment and machinesPerform inspections of works undertakenReceive and review daily jobs and prioritize scheduled jobsEnsure job documentation, workshop drawings, job tasks, and inspections are signed and dated, as per company guidelinesDiagnose faults and perform operational and routine maintenance as requiredEnsure all work is inspected as per company guidelinesCheck fabrication and assembly for accuracy and clearance using precision measuring toolsAlways undertake a high level of WHS Standards and a strong commitment to safetyABOUT YOU To be considered for this position, you must hold the following attributes:
