DescriptionAbout the Opportunity:DSTG is currently experimenting and building capability with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Computer Vision (CV) techniques at large scale for the purpose of assessing their applicability to the Defence context.Existing initial demonstrators have shown great promise and DSTG is now in need of four machine learning engineers to further develop, accelerate and mature these capabilities.ResponsibilitiesWorking with leading-edge hardware and ML technologies demonstrating the art of the possible and working toward bringing ML based technology into the Defence domain in support of Defence's mission and capabilities.Being part of an integrated team spanning ICT professionals and engineers, DSTG Researchers, Defence Operators, and Analysts.Designing and developing machine learning systems, implementing appropriate ML algorithms, conducting experiments, and demonstrating outcomes and ML based opportunities to Defence stakeholders.Working with DSTG data sets to create models, perform statistical analysis, train and retrain systems to optimise performance with a goal to build efficient self-learning applications and contribute to Defence's advancements in artificial intelligence.Studying and transforming data science prototypes.QualificationsDesign of machine learning systems.Development of machine learning applications according to requirements.Selection of appropriate datasets and data representation methods.Performance of statistical analysis and fine-tuning using test results.Executing train and retrain systems as necessary.Extending existing internal DSTG ML libraries and frameworks.SkillsExperience in software development & machine learning.Experience in the use of machine learning methods on multi-GPU platforms.Ability to communicate effectively and tailor presentation style and messaging to be relevant to a range of audience levels of knowledge, skills, and experience.Sound interpersonal skills including the ability to work as a productive member of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and clients across multiple organizational levels.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Responding strongly and positively to challenging work and deadlines.Internal life @MaltemA community of practitioners that you can contact to share your knowledge.Lunch and coffee catch-up to have some chit-chat with the community.An after work event every two months to gather the community and get to know each other better around a beer or some nice juices.A regular follow-up of your key account manager on your mission and career evolution along with our head of data & analytics.Sports activities that can happen after work or during the weekend (voluntary-based).Work in our new offices at WeWork where we have some open space, free drinks, and other advantages.A laptop proposed by the company (depending on your mission).The possibility to work overseas for Maltem Group.The possibility to be part of an advisory and greenfield project.The possibility to be mentored or mentoring someone during your journey with Maltem.We take care of each other, and our employees are at the heart of everything we do.
