About the opportunity WesTrac are seeking a skilled Machine Control and Guidance Technician to join the Customer Solutions team supporting our expansive Western Region customer base! Reporting to the Technology Service Supervisor, this role will see you working alongside an experienced team to provide continued support of sustained customer demand and the increase in technologies installed in Caterpillar's newest machines.
Our WesTrac Technology Team automates the world's largest and most technologically advanced mobile mining and construction fleet assets of our top-tier clients. Our Customer Solutions team are dedicated to delivering leading-edge technology solutions that are driving major advances in mobile mining and construction fleet safety and performance.
As a Machine Control & Guidance Technician (MCG Tech), you will be operating out of either our Mudgee or Dubbo facilities but will frequently travel to support the field and office operations of Caterpillar technology products for our extensive Western Region mining customers. This will involve carrying out installation, commissioning and training for both customers and dealers in the use of the Caterpillar technology product range and providing ongoing customer support.
About you As a successful candidate, you will possess the following skills:
Australian recognised Mechanical and/or Electrical Trade Qualification with heavy industry experience is essential (Trade Certificate of Proficiency (COP) is also highly regarded).Minimum of 2 years post-trade experience in a similar role or on a mine site is highly regarded.Fleet management experience (Modular and/or Minestar Terrain Systems) is desirable.Caterpillar experience is desirable.Experience with electronics and PC-based computer applications.Experience with and an understanding of associated global positioning systems and radio telemetry techniques.Pro-active approach and dedication to Safety.A solutions-focused mindset and ability to adapt to changing requirements.Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.Unrestricted Drivers Licence.Close attention to detail and ability to perform tasks to meet Caterpillar quality standards.Why Join WesTrac?
