We are seeking a qualified Building Principal to provide up to 3 days of in-person training as part of the Developing Inclusive Leaders 2-year Enhancement Program. This training will support building leaders aspiring to implement inclusive practices within their schools. An additional 6 days of preparation and planning may be allocated to the selected candidate.Contract Position DescriptionThe selected building principal will co-facilitate training focused on inclusive leadership for K-12 building leaders. The program aims to enhance participants' capacity to support students with disabilities, including those with IEPs. The principal will be responsible for delivering content that promotes equity, cultural responsiveness, and collaborative leadership practices aligned with current state and federal standards.TermLocationProposed Start DateThe contract period will begin December 2024, with in-person training scheduled throughout the 2024-2025 school year.Training sessions will be in-person.Planning and preparation may be done remotely or in collaboration with program coordinators.12/15/2024Essential FunctionsCo-lead 3 days of in-person training for K-12 building leaders across Michigan following the Developing Inclusive Leaders learning modules and curriculum.Conduct up to 6 additional days of planning and preparation for training delivery.Engage participants through interactive, practical learning, utilizing real-world case studies, scenario planning, and collaborative discussions.Required QualificationsA current or recently retired (within two years) building principal serving in a K-12 educational setting.Demonstrated experience in implementing inclusive education practices, specifically for students with disabilities.Knowledge of federal and state education standards, including IDEA, MARSE, and relevant school leadership frameworks.Proven ability to train and lead professional development sessions for K-12 building leaders.Required Skills:Group facilitation and knowledge of adult learningFamiliarity with standard office platforms, such as Google and Microsoft OfficeTime management, multitasking, and flexibilityAccuracy and attention to detailInterpersonal skills, professional and courteous demeanorAbility to work well under pressure and navigate multiple deadlinesProactive approach to problem-solving and process improvementAbility to work well independently and in collaboration with othersCompensation:Compensation will be based on the current daily rates for both in-person training and preparation days ($650 per day). Contractors invoice monthly on the 10th of the month for services rendered during the previous month. Contractors will receive a form 1099 for tax purposes.
