M&E Technical Director

Our client is one of the longest running M&E Partnerships in Leeds with a successful history of delivering building services design schemes nationally.
The Leeds office is seeking to appoint a talented MEP Technical Director with a mechanical / HVAC engineering background to join the well-established team. This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious, client-facing Mechanical Engineer to take a leading role on various projects across the UK and enjoy a senior position within an award-winning practice. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, confident individual with outstanding leadership skills, capable of delivering high-profile projects to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage mid to large-sized projects as the Lead Engineer. Maintain relationships with key clients and manage a team of Engineers. Conduct quality checks and promote technical excellence. Ensure team results and adherence to budget. Mentor staff and promote continuing professional development (CPD) activities. Perform risk assessments and value engineering. Contribute to and provide information for fee proposals. Requirements:
Extensive experience in Mechanical Building Services Design. Knowledge of a wide range of market sectors. Previous experience managing projects and small teams. Ability to provide technically sound design solutions. Experience in seeing conceptual designs through to completion and dealing directly with clients. Work experience within a similar consultancy or other relevant business. Relevant experience in mechanical engineering design, including specification writing, calculations, and developing designs from first principles. Proficiency with software such as IES, Hevacomp, AutoCAD, MS Office; knowledge of Revit is advantageous but not essential. Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English, with the ability to inspire, influence, and negotiate. Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering.
Preferably Chartered or working towards Chartership status.
Membership of CIBSE or a relevant and equivalent professional body.
