Adass Israel School Secondary Campus is seeking a LOTE and Jewish Studies teacher. We are looking for Yiddish and Classical Hebrew speaking teachers who are able to implement the Australian Curriculum through engaging teaching and assessment practices.
In this role, you will work with a welcoming and supportive team, who are committed to helping students reach their potential, developing skills to pursue various options following their schooling. You will be flexible and motivated to educate your students and show demonstrated ability as a successful classroom teacher.
Situated in Melbourne's South Eastern suburbs, Adass Israel School is an independent, private school in Elsternwick that is a member school of ISV (Independent Schools Victoria). With three campuses in close vicinity, the school operates within the framework of a Jewish Orthodox school, and as such, teachers and trainers are required to respect and support the ethos of the School, particularly adhering to the Dress Code.
Key Requirements: Demonstrated experience teaching LOTE (Yiddish and classical Hebrew) and Jewish Studies at the Secondary level V.I.T registration essential Passionate about educating students Interpersonal skills appropriate to teaching Secondary Demonstrated strong and effective communication with students, parents, and staff An understanding and sensitivity to the religious and cultural values of the Adass Israel community A commitment to child safety, well-being, and protection Duties Include: Deliver the LOTE and Jewish Studies curriculum to Secondary students Monitor, assess, and report on student progress Design and prepare curriculum materials and appropriate documentation pertaining to the delivery and assessment of the LOTE and Jewish Studies curriculum Provide input to the ongoing review of the curriculum Participate in quality assurance programs, as required Maintain a duty of care in the classroom, including issues of discipline, students' safety, well-being, and protection, and WHS Other duties as required by your Supervisor Adass Israel School is committed to the well-being, safety, and protection of all students and has zero tolerance to child abuse.
