Work With UsDate: 18 October 2024Location: Braybrook/ ThomastownReports to: Training Administration CoordinatorEmployment type: Full-timeThe Student Support Officer plays a crucial role in enhancing the student experience by providing academic, administrative, and pastoral support. Based across both the Braybrook and Thomastown offices, this position is responsible for guiding students through their educational journey, from orientation to graduation, ensuring they have the resources and support necessary to succeed.What we are looking for:A. Orientation and InductionConduct orientation sessions for new classes and provide induction for students.Engage actively with students to support and enhance their progression through the course.B. Student Mentorship and AccountabilityMentor, coach, and hold students accountable to their commitments.Address and handle all inquiries from students throughout their learning journey.C. Learning Material Provision and Assessment TrackingProvide necessary learning materials (LATs) as needed.Collect and verify completed LATs from trainers and confirm each unit's completion with the relevant staff.Regularly communicate with the administration team to keep them informed about unit completion.Submit completed assessments (LATs) to the Administration Officer for reporting and filing with SVTS.D. Student Withdrawal and Deferment SupportAssist and advise students on processes for withdrawing or deferring from the course.Ensure all necessary documents, including signed forms and completed/incomplete units, are accurately completed and submitted to the Administration Officer.E. Graduation and Event CoordinationOrganize and facilitate graduation events when necessary, ensuring a positive experience for all students.F. Resource and Equipment ManagementManage and provide learning resources, such as tea, coffee, and milk, for trainers and students.Arrange any additional equipment needed by trainers and students for effective learning.G. Work Placement CoordinationOversee work placement arrangements for students.Engage with workplaces to facilitate student support and monitor their progress during placements.Develop and maintain the network of work placement.The above list is not exhaustive and the role may change to meet the overall objectives of AVWA.
