The AWS Infrastructure Operation Logistics is looking for a Logistics Specialist to join our expanding team. Logistics Specialists review Data Center inventory, in-bound shipments, and ongoing demand to ensure that proper stock levels are maintained in all locations to support build and repair activities.

Your work will ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations by being a part of operating the world's largest cloud computing infrastructure.
Key Job ResponsibilitiesLogistics Specialists are expected to understand all aspects of transportation, shipping and receiving as well as inventory control, adhere to strict safety standards, maintain very high quality, and be willing and able to work on powered equipment (i.e. server lifter).Completing manual tasks, such as assembling, addressing, and arranging for the shipment of materials, handling incoming shipments, unpacking boxes and verifying contents.Loading and unloading large equipment utilizing pallet jacks.Maintaining accountability of in-stock components as well as receiving and processing inbound shipments.Assisting with ongoing requests to ensure that proper stock levels are maintained and distributed to all locations to support build and repair activities.Working with the Logistics Manager to create plans to optimize the flow and delivery of parts through their lifecycle; tracking inventory locations and movement.Working closely with Datacenter Operations Technicians to fulfill parts and equipment deliveries quickly and accurately.Working with Procurement teams to ensure that inbound equipment orders are complete and delivered to appropriate Data Center Locations.Regular and ongoing communications with vendors to resolve issues and help them understand our business requirements necessitates a high-level communicator.Supporting an environment that operates 24/7.Receiving parts, maintaining inventory, and checking out parts as needed to Data Center Technicians and Engineers.Loading and unloading shipments and transporting parts, racks, and equipment between different locations, including localized driving of a variety of transportation vehicles.Handling sensitive/classified client materials.Working with and/or around moving mechanical parts.Occasionally working in an office environment.A Day in the LifePosition works in-person at a site location.Data entry and resolving questions from peer organizations.Maintaining up-to-date metrics dashboards and/or Excel spreadsheets and creating reports for internal and external customers and management as required.Ensuring that all billing associated with the Inventory supply chain is accurate, validated, and ready for processing.Assisting in daily scheduling of deliveries and pick-ups to and from production locations.Keeping precise records of all commodities going in and out of the company.Frequently pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching.Regularly walking, using hands and fingers, handling or feeling, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling.Coordinating body movements when using tools or equipment.Reaching and stretching to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balance.Pushing or pulling heavy objects into position.Working in a noisy environment.Standing, sitting, and walking for prolonged periods of time.Occasionally being exposed to extreme cold or hot weather.Working with and/or around moving mechanical parts.Noise level varies and can be loud.This team will be working overtime as needed by the business.Willingness and demonstrated ability to work in the following physical conditions with reasonable accommodations:Push or pull heavy objects into position.Work in a noisy environment.Commitment to a culture of safety.Must be able to shift priorities without friction.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS1+ years of logistics experience - shipping & receiving, inventory, and warehousing practices.Experienced with computers and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).A valid driver's license is required.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS1+ years of material forecasting experience.1+ year of experience in transportation.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
