The AWS Infrastructure Operation Logistics is looking for a Logistics Specialist to join our expanding team. Logistics Specialists review Data Center inventory, in-bound shipments, and ongoing demand to ensure that proper stock levels are maintained in all locations to support build and repair activities.
If you would like to dive deep into the inventory consumption, control, and accuracy, we'd like to meet you. Your work will ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations by being a part of operating the world's largest cloud computing infrastructure.
Key job responsibilitiesLogistics Specialists are expected to understand all aspects of transportation, shipping and receiving as well as inventory control, adhere to strict safety standards, maintain very high quality, and be willing and able to work on powered equipment (i.e. server lifter).
Completing manual tasks, such as assembling, addressing and arranging for the shipment of materials, handling incoming shipments, unpacking boxes and verifying contents.Load and unload large equipment utilizing pallet jacks.Maintain accountability of in-stock components as well as receive and process inbound shipments.Assist with ongoing requests to ensure that proper stock levels are maintained and distributed to all locations to support build and repair activities.Working with the Logistics Manager, create plans to optimize the flow and delivery of parts through their lifecycle; tracking inventory locations and movement.Working closely with Data center Operations Technicians to fulfill parts and equipment deliveries quickly and accurately.Working with Procurement teams to ensure that inbound equipment orders are complete and delivered to appropriate Data Center Locations.Regular and ongoing communications with vendors to resolve issues and help them understand our business requirements necessitates a high-level communicator.Support an environment that operates 24/7.Receive parts, maintain inventory, and check-out parts as needed to Data Center Technicians and Engineers.Load and unload shipments and transport parts, racks, and equipment between different locations, including localized driving of a variety of transportation vehicles.Handle sensitive/classified client materials.Work with and/or around moving mechanical parts.Occasionally work in an office environment.A day in the lifePosition works in-person at a site location.Data entry and resolving questions from peer organizations.Maintain up-to-date metrics dashboards and/or excel spreadsheets and will create reports for internal and external customers and management as required.Ensure that all billing associated with the Inventory supply chain is accurate, validated and ready for processing.Assembling, addressing, stamping and arranging for the shipment of merchandise and materials.Assist in daily scheduling of deliveries and pick-ups to and from production locations.Keep precise records of all commodities going in and out of the company.Frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.Regularly walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.Coordinate body movements when using tools or equipment.Reach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balance.Push or pull heavy objects into position.Work in a noisy environment.Stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods of time.Occasionally be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather.This team will be working overtime as needed by the business.Willingness and demonstrated ability to work in the following physical conditions with reasonable accommodations:Push or pull heavy objects into position.Work in a noisy environment.Commitment to a culture of safety.Must be able to shift priorities without friction.About the teamAWS values diverse experiences. Minimum Requirements: 1+ years of logistics experience - shipping & receiving, inventory and warehousing practices.Experienced with computers and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).A valid driver's license is required.• 1+ years of material forecasting experience.
• 1+ year of experience in transportation.
