APS 6 - $91,944 - $104,393 Australian Antarctic Kingston - TAS The Australian Antarctic Division Logistics Project Coordinator will be a strong communicator with experience in Logistic & Operational management associated with developing and delivering complex infrastructure projects in complex environments.

Who we are The Australian Antarctic Division (AAD) is part of the Commonwealth Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water.
As the primary agency for Australia's Antarctic Program (AAP), the AAD is responsible for achieving the Australian Government's Antarctic goals:
Maintain the Antarctic Treaty System and enhance Australia's influence within it. Protect the Antarctic environment. Understand the role of Antarctica in the global climate system. Undertake scientific work of practical, economic and national significance. The AAD also has responsibility for administering the Australian Antarctic Territory and the Territory of Heard Island and McDonald Islands.
The Job The Logistics Project Coordinator will be responsible for the planning, development and administration of integrated logistic & civil design (site establishment) for Planning, Design & Construction Phases of Major Infrastructure projects.
The position will be required to work in a dynamic environment with a multi-discipline team.
The role is required to be responsive to changing project and organisational demands.
Working in conjunction with and reporting to the Project Lead, this position will work closely with the Australian Antarctic Division (AAD) Operations Branch, Environmental & Construction Sections to deliver the operational, logistical and site establishment components of the Planning, Design & Construction Phases of Major Infrastructure projects.
This position requires an individual with good interpersonal skills, who is well organised and flexible with high level coordination skills, and the ability to produce work at the required level, often in tight timeframes.
What we are looking for Knowledge and experience Demonstrated experience in logistics or operational management and movement of equipment, materials and people. Demonstrated experience in site establishment for complex and remote construction projects. Be responsible for the development of project operations, logistics and site management plans. Support the development and maintain logistic management plans and schedules for infrastructure projects. Ability to consider environmental considerations, construction sequencing, off site manufacturing, operations, program, procurement strategy and risk profiles. Assist in the creation and maintenance of Logistic and Operation reports and documentation. Assist in the creation of Environmental & Site Management Plans through to practical delivery for complex and remote construction projects. Demonstrated experience across a wide range of projects that demonstrates the capability to successfully undertake the position. Skills and capabilities This position will be required to work in a dynamic environment with a multi-disciplined team. Be responsive to changing project and organisation demands. Work effectively with a small, high performing multi-disciplinary project team working to tight timeframes while adapting to be responsive to project and organisational needs. Support the planning and execution of the Project field activities in conjunction with other Project team members. Assist with other duties as required for construction projects, including general project management support, risk management and workplace health and safety. Demonstrated high level communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to communicate with influence with senior executives and technical stakeholders. Leadership, resilience and adaptability to change and proven ability to work independently and effectively in small teams to meet regulatory or project deadlines. Please note that the successful applicant may be required to travel to the Antarctic and sub-Antarctic regions therefore they may be required to meet specific medical, adaptability and personal qualities requirements appropriate to working in those environments.
Demonstrate the range of personal qualities and interpersonal skills necessary to perform as a successful team member within isolated Antarctic and sub-Antarctic environments. Demonstrate an ability to effectively adapt and respond to the demands of living and working in an isolated and confined environment as determined by a psychological (adaptability) assessment. Be certified as fit for Antarctic service by the AAD's Polar Medicine Unit. Desirable qualifications A relevant tertiary qualification from an Australian tertiary institution, or a comparable overseas institution, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
Eligibility and other requirements Citizenship - To be eligible for employment with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water you must be an Australian citizen. Security Clearance - This position requires a Baseline Vetting security clearance.
