About the opportunity SA Power Networks is seeking a Logistics Operations Manager to oversee our Logistics & Manufacturing Operations function. This role is crucial in delivering safe, customer-focused, and cost-effective inventory and materials management services. You will be responsible for warehousing, distribution, stobie pole production, transformer workshop operations, and recycling services, all while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. Your leadership will directly contribute to the success and growth of SA Power Networks.
Key Responsibilities: Manage logistics operations to ensure efficiency and safety. Oversee inventory and materials management, ensuring compliance and customer satisfaction. Lead warehousing and distribution activities to optimize service delivery. Supervise stobie pole production and transformer workshop operations. Implement best practices in recycling services. Foster a culture of safety and compliance within the team. Key role objectives include: Occupational Health Safety & Welfare: Provide a safe and healthy work environment for employees, customers, and the community by complying with all aspects of the SA Power Networks Health Safety and Rehabilitation Directive. Warehouse Management: Achieve cost-effective and efficient operation of warehousing services by developing, implementing, and reviewing warehouse management strategies and processes. Distribution: Provide cost-effective and efficient distribution services by developing, implementing, and reviewing distribution strategies and processes and managing the outsourced transport contract. Field Operations – Materials Management: Provide a cost-effective and efficient materials management service to the field by ensuring depot stores are operating optimally and that materials are available in the right place at the right time. Customer Management & Service: Achieve exceptional levels of customer service and satisfaction by proactively communicating with customers, understanding their service requirements, and developing strategies and processes to meet these requirements efficiently. Stobie pole production: Ensure safe, cost effective and efficient manufacture of stobie poles by understanding demand to optimise manufacturing activities and regularly reviewing associated costs. Transformer Workshop: Ensure safe, cost-effective refurbishment and workshop configuration of transformers, voltage regulators and switches and the manufacture of line hardware. Essential role requirements Proven experience in logistics or operations management. Strong understanding of inventory management, warehousing and distribution processes. Excellent leadership and communication skills. Ability to lead, drive improvements and achieve operational excellence.
