POSITION SUMMARY:
Due to continued growth, we are looking for a casual or full-time Logistics Officer to join our friendly and dedicated team.
The Logistics Officer will oversee the semen inventory function and will establish, monitor and maintain processes, procedures and discipline within the inventory function, including monitoring and tracking of stock on hand, along with documenting and recording inbound and outbound product movements.
This position will be 100% trained and incumbent expected to work independently upon completion of training.
RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES
Maintain semen inventories
Manage all incoming and outgoing semen and embryo movements.
Ensure all tanks, canisters, and shippers are maintained by regular nitrogen replenishment.
Manage genetics storage facility withing HSE policies and governmental regulations.
Cleaning and sterilizing genetic-related items
Capture and organize product orders ready for distribution
Coordinate shipments and deliveries
Assess, monitor and negotiate appropriate shipping methods, routing of carriers, including negotiation of rates and competitive alternatives
Liaise with Shipping, Customer Service and QA departments on daily basis to ensure optimized coordination and documentation compliance
Liaising with Area Sales Managers to ensure that Customer expectations on delivery dates are achieved with the planned schedules
Schedule and track all in-bound and outbound shipments for both global and national distribution
Monitoring and recording all inventory movements and tank locations allocations
Ensuring inventory data accuracy, excellent data in – excellent data out
Occasional driving for inventory pickups and drop offs
General office and administrative duties

You are a self-starter who thinks on your feet and enjoys a key central role where attention to detail, communication, and getting things right is imperative.
This is a role where you can demonstrate your excellent time management, organizational skills, attention to detail, and work ethic.
Your strong computer skills and your "can do" positive attitude will fit well within this team.
Previous experience in a logistics/operational role, preferably within the agriculture or animal health sectors will be an advantage but not essential.
You will be trained on working with and handing liquid nitrogen and animal genetic material.
