Operational leader required to join Aurizon's rail & logistics operations team based in Murrin Murrin on a FIFO arrangement.
Reporting to the Terminal Operations Manager, you will be responsible for providing frontline leadership to the operational staff, as well as local customer engagement to ensure the safe, reliable, and cost-effective delivery of services for our customers.
Champion and promote Aurizon's "We know safe, We choose safe" approach. Achieve the agreed level of DIFOT and ensure on-time running to meet the customers' expectations. Monitor the financial budgets, ensuring costs are controlled and revenue maximised. Managing asset utilisation to maximise the financial results of the business increasing labour productivity across the business. Liaise and collaborate with other relevant teams to achieve business objectives and optimise available resources. Direct and manage the allocation, utilisation, and deployment of resources to meet all operational and customer needs. Build positive workplace relationships with the team providing engaged frontline leadership, including setting, and monitoring of performance standards. Ensure the team's ongoing compliance to local legislative WHS requirements, through consistent execution of Aurizon's safety strategy. Execute local strategies to support Operational Excellence with the goal of continuous improvement to reduce asset cycle times and improve service payloads. Identify opportunities for most efficient operations and customer delivery. About you: Experience working and leading teams in a large-scale logistics / complex supply chain environment. Previous front-line leadership experience in large scale logistics or heavy industrial organisation. High customer service focus, excellent written, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders on all levels. Capacity to understand the people issues and how the issues impact the business. Ample computer skills and use of operational systems. Extensive knowledge of operations, preferably of road and rail industry. Sound knowledge of rail, road coordination and terminal operations. Analytical and critical thinking skills to optimise business processes. High customer service focus, excellent written, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders on all levels.
