He/ she drives safety, quality, compliance (inventories, internal controls, legal, …) , service to internal and externals customers as well as performance (cost…)This included Nutreco warehouses, leased warehouses self-operated and may include 3rd party Logistic warehouse.Job Description:Long term footprint:o Develops, maintains and documents, policies, processes and procedures for - Safe and legally compliant warehousing and logistics operations - Efficient and cost-effective storage and movement of materials and products within the warehouse and throughout the production system. - Own or 3rd party logistics to insure proper and optimum Route to Marketo Analyses and reports on the performance, capacity, and volume of warehousing and logistics activities for use in short- and long-term strategic planning. Warehouse and Inventory Management:o Ensures receipt of all deliveries according to company procedures (labeling, dating, FIFO principles, etc.) and oversees placement into warehouse. Monitors the space layout plan utilization to ensure it continues to meet company standards.o In charge of inventory accuracy and assets though stock take / inventory controls and monitor / root cause analysis and actions in case of variationso Works closely with other functions (production, planning, S&OP, Purchasing…) and production facilities to ensure that adequate and appropriate inventory and storage is available to meet customer demands. Takes actions to remedy as needed.o Resolves complex issues arising from variances with relevant parties (suppliers, production, customers, customer service, finance and 3rd parties)o Oversees the accurate and timely data entry of all warehouse and related activities into software applications and databasesLogistics / Transport Management:o Manages all transport and distribution services including receiving, storing, shipping, handling returned/damaged goods, maintenance and administrative activities to ensure customer requirements are metPeople management:o Provides leadership to his / her area (i.e. setting individual objectives, reviewing performance and providing ongoing feedback on a(n) (in)formal basis) so that all reports are aware of what they are required to achieve and how they are performing against their objectives. Develops and directs all warehouse personnel, logistics personnel and drivers to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation and utilization of the facility, motivates employees throughsincere and concrete feedback and take appropriate action when needed, stimulate team cooperation and mobility and ensure that staff are deployable (quantitatively and qualitatively) and willing to and capable of realizing the set objectives.Performance Management:o Maximizes delivery efficiency and pickup/delivery performance. The scope of movements includes all items moving between 3PL warehouses, outside warehouses, and customer/vendor locations.o Reviews and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly reports to ensure warehousing and logistics operations are meeting expectation and to identify areas of variance requiring attention and correction; implement corrective action as appropriate. Monitors the performance and makes adjustments as necessaryLeading IBP deployment · Determine and maintain IBP process standards for Nutreco, as part of Nutreco IBP team · Deploy IBP process in selected Opco's, by guiding/coaching business partners · Drive and continuously improve Opco's towards required IBP maturity levels within defined timeframe and budget (escalate / adjust where needed) · Act as center of expertise on IBP related topicContinuous improvement:o Continuously reviews distribution methods, techniques and procedures, service providers & costs in order to proactively initiate changes to supply chain channels & ensure products are warehoused and distributed effectively at least cost, while supporting efficient customer service. Make recommendations to senior management on programs to improve warehousing and logisticso Lead lean / MyWorkplace Roll out (5S, KPIs management..) and develop Problem solving methodologieso Leverage Value stream mapping and Supply chain Best practices (stocks, flows, ergonomic, picking …)Compliance:o Ensures the warehouses, internal fleet and all processes and procedures are compliant with insurance, legal licensing requirements and with any national, state and local regulations.
