About the role Caterpillar of Australia currently has an opportunity for an energetic, passionate & committed Logistics Administrator to join the Queensland Distribution Centre (QDC) based in Yatala, QLD. This position supports, plans and oversees procurement and supports the Operational leadership team within the Queensland Distribution Centre in various administrative duties.
Job Responsibilities for this role include: Participates in scheduling production and delivery processes in accordance with current productivity and cost efficiency standards.Develops and executes material planning for a product line to ensure that all material requirements for assigned programs are met within the allocated time frame.Organises the flow of materials within the manufacturing unit and the transferring of materials to and from the inventory or warehouse.Generates forecasts and manages replenishment planning for parts and materials to ensure specified service levels are met.Procurement activities using Caterpillar's approved programs and systems.The facilitation of the facilities accounts payable function.Sourcing quotes and collaborating with Caterpillar suppliers on a regular basis.Provide cost reporting to the Logistics Centre Manager.Coordinate contractor services when required.Assists in the coordination of uniforms, personal protective equipment and indirect materials.Responsible for maintaining QDC's reception area, included but not limited to ensuring visitor compliance and sign in procedures are adhered to.Supports in the coordination of site tours.Maintains and prepares meeting rooms when required, including the coordination of catering.Key skills requirements for this role include: Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.Interpersonal Relationships: Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.Purchasing Tasks and Activities: Knowledge of policies, regulations and processes of purchasing; ability to use practices and procedures for procurement of materials, components, equipment and services.Data Analytics: Knowledge of techniques and processes for inspecting, cleansing, transforming, and modeling data; ability to discover useful information, draw logical conclusions, and support decision-making.Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.Inventory Management: Knowledge of processes and methods of inventory management; ability to effectively manage local or distributed inventories of indirect materials.Qualifications and Experience: Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in a similar role.Prior experience within a fast-paced warehousing/logistics environment.Caterpillar of Australia is not currently hiring foreign national applicants that require or will require sponsorship.
