Locomotive Technician required for a key rolling stock client based in Leicester on an initial 2-year fixed Term contract.
Our Client is looking for candidates with prior experience in a Locomotive technician role who has experience of fault finding and testing.
This will be on a brand-new fleet of locomotives.
As a Locomotive Technician you will work 40 hours a weekdays Monday to Friday.
The first few months of the works will be based in Worksop before moving to Leicester, this will be on a salary of up to 50000 depending on experience.
There could be some travel abroad required by all of this would be covered by the client.
As a Locomotive Technician, your task will include:
Undertake fault finding and identify the associated repair requiredUndertake and provide support across the business for all condition monitoring and manually monitored systems on the train and its interfacesPerform secondary checks of the work of colleagues (four-eyes principle)Answer technical questions from colleagues and handle practical questions asked by the ClientProvide assistance and technical feedback to the RAMS / Performance Engineer and depot production teams on technical incidents, including Line of Route Technicians as required
Requirements of a Locomotive Technician:Served a recognised apprenticeship to minimum City and Guilds/ BTEC level with Mechanical / Electrical / electronic bias and NVQ level 3 or to a proven similar standardExtensive professional engineering experience in (rolling stock) maintenanceKnowledge and experience in modern technical systems and fault finding techniques and the interaction between these, conducting and leading complex root cause investigations and reading electrical / mechanical schematics competentlyStrong knowledge, experience and understanding of risk and safety in the workplace from a production perspectiveDemonstrated ability to solve complex problems
