Job DescriptionJob Description Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor Victoria, the position includes the following responsibilities:
To maintain rolling stock by following the Safe Work instructions that include:Executing adjustment, alignment, balance, calibration, clean, inspect, lubricate, measure, monitor, record, refurbish, repair, restore, service, test and torque tasks on SCT equipment including general housekeeping (good record keeping) and upkeep according to Policies, Procedures and Standards of the SCT Maintenance Department.Identify areas of improvement and continuous improvement.Ability to manage and meet targets.Good understanding of how to utilize new/use materials.Provide accurate data, results and feedback.Desired Skills and ExperienceDesired Skills and Experience Trade Certificate in Heavy Vehicles MaintenanceEither Electrical, Mechanical or similar trade experienceAbility to work autonomously and with others and foster a good team environment.Ability to take on challenges with lateral thinking and implement change.Attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work under pressure.Ability to use Microsoft suites – Word, EmailValid First Aid CertificateLocomotive maintenance experience or knowledgeRail Safety Awareness InductionExperience within the Transport industryOther important information We reserve the right to commence recruitment proceedings prior to the stated closing date.The successful candidate will have to undertake an Australian Federal Police check and Pre-Employment Medical (for certain roles) which will be arranged and paid for by SCT.Recruitment companies, need not apply.SCT is an equal opportunity employer and we recognise the value and importance of diversity.
