lead who can set the vision, lead, and grow a team of highly technical experts focused on deploying localization and perception technologies for mobile autonomous applications on hardened embedded production hardware.
This team is responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting a core set of algorithms and tools used for configuration of GNSS-INS and perception sensors.
The reference algorithms and tools created by this team will be used both by our internal application development teams as well as customers to be deployed in production autonomous systems.

ResponsibilitiesAs a Localization Technical Lead, you will:
Develop technology for autonomous vehicles for mining haulage vehiclesBe the key engineer in developing, integrating, and delivering a full solution that seamlessly integrates Hexagon technologiesCoordinate and collaborate closely with local development teams and remote development teams in the United States and CanadaTrain other engineers on using the Hexagon localization tools and technologies as well as following the processesTake trips to customer mine site for on-vehicle deployment, testing, and tuning of our localization, perception and autonomy systemsDesign tools for complex localization and perception vehicle systemsParticipate in definition of processes which helps to make the development and deployment more efficientAssist with autonomous vehicle applications and tools development using C++, Python, MATLAB, and SimulinkAssist with localization and perception algorithms integration into our proprietary autonomy stackContribute to customer and internal documentation and training material for various software applicationsCreate test instructionSupport field testing and troubleshooting of products by field techniciansPerform regular final checks of on-vehicle testing of software releases, analysis of vehicle control behaviorMaintain JIRA Projects and team workflows.
Ensure project data and tasks are updated regularly.Minimal international travel may be requiredQualificationsMust Have:Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related fieldExperience managing a small team or acting as a technical lead for small teams.Experience in tools and methods which improves efficiency of technology deployment and sensor configurationNice to Have:Direct experience leading teams of engineersMasters degree or PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field5+ years experience working with localization technologies and algorithms, especially Novatel GNSS products5+ years experience with C++, MATLAB or Python programmingKey Success Factors: Strong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to lead and train other engineers
