This role involves enforcing local, state and federal laws, conducting inspections and addressing compliance issues.
You will engage with the community, offering education on regulations and fostering positive relationships with residents and stakeholders.
With a focus on environmental management and community engagement, this position enables you to make a meaningful impact in a unique and picturesque setting.Investigate and respond to reported breaches of local laws, such as animal control, noise and vegetation issues.Issue fines and infringement notices for non-compliance and manage daily activities within the Local Laws and Animal Management Program.Promote compliance through education and direct communication with residents.Handle the impoundment, care, release or euthanasia of animals, ensuring humane treatment.Implement pest and weed control initiatives and assist with the regional biosecurity plan.Conduct inspections and assist with operations at Burketown and Gregory aerodromes.Support disaster management efforts, including cyclone preparedness and response activities.Maintain accurate records, reports and compliance documentation.About You:A proactive communicator with a strong commitment to community engagement.
You need to excel at enforcing local laws, resolving conflicts and building positive relationships within the community.
A keen eye for detail and the ability to navigate the unique challenges of a rural environment are essential.
