The Recycling and Waste Maintenance Officer provides a maintenance management program that supports and optimises the operation of Recycling and Waste Centre assets including asset inspections and condition auditing in line with Asset Management specifications. The position supports and contributes to the effective and efficient operation and maintenance of Council's waste management facilities, programs and services. Key Responsibilities: Demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging best practice in waste management and waste facility operation in addition to sound working knowledge of environmental and safety legislation. Well-developed time management skills in the effective planning, organising and coordination of a range of diverse tasks and activities relating to asset management, landfill and transfer station inspections and environmental monitoring. Demonstrated ability in development and assisting in the implementation of environmental management plans, safety management plans, work procedures, policies and operational guidelines. Well-developed verbal and interpersonal communication demonstrated through motivational influence, including the ability to negotiate with internal and external clients to resolve sensitive issues Skills & Experience: satisfy public sector ethical standards, and Councils codes of conduct and values, Comply with the Information Privacy Principles of the Information Privacy Act 2009, Contribute to and support the achievement of Councils Corporate Plan, Align with authorised Councils policies, guidelines, and procedures, Support and contribute to customer service that satisfies the Councils Customer Charter. Protect the safety of self and other workers through safe work practices as detailed in the Workplace Health and Safety Responsibilities Procedure and associated statements.
