Aged & Disability Support (Community Services & Development) IWC is currently recruiting part-time and full-time Local Area Coordinators (LAC) to play a crucial role in directly supporting participants in navigating the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). ABOUT IWC: IWC is an Aboriginal community-controlled and multi-accredited health and wellbeing organization committed to providing services without discrimination to both Indigenous and non-Indigenous individuals in Bundaberg and the Wide Bay Burnett region. ABOUT THE POSITION: IWC has an exciting opportunity for Local Area Coordinators to join their growing team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Guide and support those transitioning to the NDIS with the completion of appropriate documentation designed to identify and support their needs. Assist individuals, families, carers, and communities to access information on the NDIS. Provide information to individuals, families, and carers to identify their goals, strengths, and needs and build capacity through this plan for their future. Support individuals, families, and carers to identify personal and local community networks to help them meet their goals and needs. Support, assist, and consult with individuals and families accessing the LAC Program in a way that promotes independence, empowerment, and involvement. SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES: Qualifications and/or lived experience in disability (preferred but not essential). Strong computer skills, excellent written communication, and effective problem-solving abilities. Proven ability to meet targets and goals. Demonstrated application of a person-centered approach to service provision and social inclusion. Effective listening, communication, and influencing skills. KEY REQUIREMENTS: NDIS Workers Screening Check and Clearance. Current driver's license or ability to obtain. First Aid Certificate or ability to obtain. Federal Police Check or ability to obtain. Blue Card (Working with Children Card QLD)* or ability to obtain. (IWC will cover the cost of this application for the successful candidate). * No Card, No Start legislation means that the successful applicant will need to hold a valid blue card before they start work. SALARY PACKAGE: Your Salary Package is made up of the following: - Salary Sacrifice Packaging valued up to $15,990 per annum – adding approximately $2,000 to your take-home pay (available after completion of probation). Meals and Entertainment Package up to $2,600 per annum (available after completion of probation). 9-day fortnight for full-time employees. Superannuation valued at 11%. Annual Leave Loading of 17.5%.
